Sony has released a new "back button accessory" that will be available in February for the PlayStation 4's Dualshock 4 controller.
The new officially licensed peripheral slot is located at the bottom of the controller and includes two programmable buttons that can be mapped to any of 16 different operations and also provide tactile feedback when pressed. The accessory also has its own on-board OLED display that provides task assignment information in real time.
Another button also allows you to remap the back button on the fly, and you can set up three preset profiles to switch based on the game you play. Naturally, given its slot on the bottom of the controller, it also has a 3.5mm through hole, so you can connect all your usual headphones to Dualshock 4 as usual.
The back button accessory will be launched on February 14, 2020, with a suggested retail price of approximately 29.99 Euros and UK prices to be determined.
